I like Nero because it's easy to use and included lots of useful features, especially the ones for DVD recording.
What I disliked about it was that the interface looks too simple and not too decorative enough. I hope future's Nero releases will include more beautiful-looking interfaces in them so the users can appreciate how great this software really is. I have used Nero products for many years now. I have not attempted to use this with Blueray disks. It has several other features but those are the ones I mostly use. I use it in a Windows 10 environment on a 64 bit PC.
The good about Nero: It does a good job for what I use it for. Properly installed, It will play seeming nearly any video or music file. The not so good about Nero: One year from install they will no longer handle support issues and they will not roll out any further upgrades or fixes after that period.
Nero has a history of being affected by Microsoft Windows new versions and upgrades and sometimes no longer working after Microsoft rolls out an upgrade as recently happened to me.
Recently Microsoft had rolled out an upgrade to Windows 10 that kept the file player part of Nero Nero Media Home from playing MP4 video files that it had previously played.
I purchased this new copy of Nero Platinum, uninstalled my version, and installed the new version. Initially it had the same exact problem. I then contacted Nero, gave them my license number, and then a day later they told me that recent Microsoft Windows 10 updates had caused the problem.
They referred me to a cumulative update for Windows 10 to install. I then installed that and then after the update and reboot Nero worked perfectly. Note that I had to buy a new version of Nero to get the support from their support group to fix an incompatibility between Nero and Microsoft.
Do not ever buy Nero as a download - My experience from that is that one year from date of install it will mysteriously stop working and when you attempt a reinstall it will tell you that you need to buy a new license. If you buy it as a disk you can reinstall it even after a year if you need to. But of course if you need support, well that's a different issue. I am completely happy with the functionality of Nero when it's working.
I am very unhappy with their business model that seems to try to force you to buy a new version every year. If they are going to just "rent" me the software a year at a time they need to greatly reduce its cost. Product is great. However, I ordered this by mistake. I was aware that NERO was advertising it's version I did not read the cover on the box before ordering.
Irony, I already had the version of the product installed on my computer. Found some old pictures on some disks. Nero was able to decrypt them. Thought we had lost them forever. Thank you Nero. Been a Nero user for a number of years. It does have a learning curve to it, and once learned it takes just minutes to burn your CD's. Been a long time since I have burned a coaster with Nero. I myself would not use anything else.
Always used Nero in the past. I needed to make a photo dvd for a wake and I purchased Roxio first Nero did the job! Nero has always been solid for me Wonderful item! Nero has always been solid for me and my burning needs, does everything I need it to!

Not for commercial production so glad to have it. The release expands its range with new support for playing movies with subtitles SRT format , and adding additional subtitles yourself. The time-saving "Multi-Export" feature helps you easily locate and extract multiple scenes from a long video, all in one operation. Gracenote support in Nero MediaHome ensures songs are always shown with their original cover art. There are many more enhancements, including Nero's free apps, which now enable more reliable streaming of media from all your mobile devices.
There's no compelling reason to upgrade here, but if you don't yet have anything similar then Nero Classic is a solid all-round multimedia suite.
